Yellowstone Adventure

I could really get used to this vacation stuff. What fun we are having as a family! Today was our Yellowstone National Park adventure...and an adventure it was. The Motel 6 we stayed at last night in Idaho Falls was not exactly the Holiday Inn Express, but it worked. The trailer was injured along the way, but nothing my amazing man couldn't fix with a couple of trips to Walmart. Willie is always getting me fun little gifts, but today he hit a home run. I LOVE to read aloud to the kids while we drive, but with such a large vehicle I get hoarse too quickly. During one of his Walmart runs, he picked me up a MICROPHONE!!!!! Now I can read to the darlings 'til our hearts' content. They can all hear me AND I keep my voice. So much fun! An added bonus is the kids pass the microphone around the car playing radio announcers, American Idol, and tour guides. Hilarious! I wish I had thought to pull out the video camera for some of the shows. At our lunch stop on the Wyoming/Montana border, Candice checked off an item from her bucket list-having her picture taken with an authentic cowboy! The pic is on her camera, but I will get it and add it here. He was such a sport even though he may have thought we were California freaks:)

We made it to Yellowstone. Ai-Lin wasn't too impressed as she slept through the family photo. She did awake in time to see Old Faithful. I have to admit it was so adorable to hear Levi tell me all he knows about geysers.

No zoom used here! We saw herds and herds of buffalo and this one was right next to our car! I even sighted a bear. Unfortunately for me, I mistakenly opened by big ol' mouth and said I thought I saw a black jaguar before I realized what I saw. A closer look revealed a cute bear. However, the boys may never let me live this one down.

We took the northeast exit, apparently the road less traveled. It made all the difference as we saw the most amazing scenery and even pulled the car over so the kids could have a snow fight!

God's creation is absolutely SO amazing! GLORIOUS! Thank you, Jesus, for the blessings of today. In Luke's words, "This is a day I will never forget!"

LA VENTURA CONTINUES
